V – The dark place. Short stories on mental health

The dark place. Short stories on mental health is a story about a college student who got herself into a bad company and how it was hard for her to get out of it.

“College is fun, glamorous! College is life and freedom! This is what I have in mind when I was about to go to my college. In school, I was pretty good with studies and yes, the extra-curricular activities.”

In the first year, I was very shy to open up and maintained a distance from “that kind of group” whom I thought might be a bad influence on me. And the second year I don’t know what and how, but I wanted to talk to them that kind of group”

I started to approach them. Talk to them and hang out with them. They all were addictive! I loved their company. And eventually, I tried drugs. Firstly, I was all curious and I thought it was a one-time thing.

I fell for it and couldn’t control my hunger for it. This has turned into a habit and I was dying to get it. Tried to seal money from home, and borrow money from friends this went all for 1 year when I finally gave up.

The dark place. Short stories on mental health: How it ended

After confessing at home and begging for help from my parents, they have had me consult a doctor and attend rehab. How hard it is to get attracted to something bad and how hard it is to get out of it. I was begging for help and I couldn’t get out of it.

After 7 months I was out of rehab completely clean. My family was always there are were willing to do anything to get me out of the mess I was myself. My mom the biggest support pillar, who always had belief in me. They got me out of this. I am grateful to have them.

The dark place. Short stories on mental health

This is a simple fiction story about how small things matters for Mental Health. How family comes to rescue us from being further drowning in depression.

In this series, I would write about more such fiction stories in which small elements would help the character into a better state of mind.
