I have a chance to be happy, again. Short stories on mental health

I have a chance to be happy again. Short stories on mental health

Posted on April 30, 2022April 30, 2022 by Sadvika Kylash

I have a chance to be happy again. Short stories on mental health is a short story about a middle-aged woman who lost her husband in her early married life.

“I was 25 when I got married and was a mother by 28. I had the best loving husband and in-laws one could ever ask for. We were happy in our married life and our happiness got double when we were blessed with a baby girl.”

He always made time for us. Have dinner together and have an amazing time outing. Nitya was very close to her father like all girls do, I guess. Once she was into her full-day school, I too started my work as a freelance Journalist.

I have a chance to be happy again. Short stories on mental health. One fateful day

When Nitya was about 10, my husband met with an accident and was in a coma for a couple of months. Our days were revolving around hospitals and doctors. We were living with broken hopes. And after 3 months, we lost him!

I was shaken and couldn’t control myself but I had to put myself together for my daughter, Nitya. She is little and couldn’t bear herself this. I had to be strong for her. This innocent soul was exposed to the harsh reality.

I have a chance to be happy again. Short stories on mental health. Cut to 15 years later.

I was a single parent all these years and dedicated my time and energy to myself and my daughter, just that we could live with comfort and I wanted to keep myself busy. She is almost 25 and her proposal changed my life.

She wanted me to get married! Wanted me to be happy. I was not convinced about her decision at first but she was keen on the decision. After a lot of discussions with her, I agreed to meet someone and we got connected instantly.

After so much thinking and spending, we decided to get married. Our families met! Keeping aside what society has to say, we were one happy family again. I was happy again. We were happy again. What an end to my story.

I have a chance to be happy, again. Short stories on mental health

This is a simple fiction story about how small things matters for Mental Health. How kids are the reason for us to be happy again.

In this series, I would write about more such fiction stories in which small elements would help the character into a better state of mind.
